The Lady Knights lose a heart breaker. The young ladies battled hard all night but came up just short. The competition was fierce in the first half as the Lady Knights built a 9-4 lead at one point. However, they allowed the Chiefs to battle back in the last few minutes of the half to close the gap and make it 9-7 going into intermission. It was a back and forth battle early on in the second half with the Chiefs making a hard charge at the Lady Knights lead. With about 10:00 to go in the contest, the Lady Knights scored to take a 12-10 lead. However, the Chiefs would score four unanswered goals to claim the win. Stephanie Willard led the Lady Knights with four goals and one assist. Hailey Efel and Hannah Vecsey each chipped in three goals with Vecsey adding an assist. Freshmen Zoe Nehrboss and Maggie Gallion each added a goal for the Lady Knights with Nehrboss adding an assist too. Defensively, Kyla Anderson played well in goal recording eight saves. The Varsity Lady Knights have another home contest on Thursday, March 7th vs the Pebblebrook Falcons as part of a double header with the Boys LAX program. Please come out to support our LAX program as the boys get things started at 5:30 against Sprayberry with the girls to follow at 7:15.
