The Lady Knights fought hard until the final seconds ticked off the clock last night at Grayson as they fell to the Rams 12-8 in the first round of the GHSA State Lacrosse Playoffs. It was a tightly contested battle throughout the course of the evening. Grayson jumped out to a 6-2 lead before the Lady Knights score two quick goals right before half to bring the score to 6-4. The second half played out pretty much the same as well as Grayson took a 6-4 edge there too making the final 12-8. Hannah Vecsey scored four goals on the night for the Lady Knights while Hailey Efel chipped in a pair. Freshman Nora Mansell and Senior Stephanie Willard scored a goal each.

Congratulations to Sophomore Hannah Vecsey who recorded a total of 52 goals and 18 assists on the year. Seniors Stephanie Willard and Hailey Efel were next with 35 goals apiece. Willard also chipped in 16 assists and Efel had 14 on the season. Vecsey also led the team in ground balls with 72 while Efel (60), Nora Mansell (44), Stephanie Willard (43) and Jordan Pruitt (40) each recorded more that forty GB’s.

We are extremely proud of this group of young ladies and we can’t thank the Senior Class of Hailey Efel, Stephanie Willard, Sabrina Roberts, Delaney Parker, and Samantha Pichardo for all of their dedication to the lacrosse program over the last four seasons. They have laid the foundation for this young group of Lady Knights to continue to and expectations will be even higher next season. Thank you Seniors for everything.
