Knights News · River Ridge Cross Country Crushes it at State

On November 6th the Knights took a trip to Carollton for the 2020 GHSA 6A Cross Country State Championships. After the 3rd year in a row, the Knights raced on Carollton High School’s unrelenting course. It’s a very hilly course; and while the past years have seen cold rainy weather, this year ended up being quite hot and dry. The Knights didn’t let that slow them down though! This is the fastest women’s team River Ridge has ever had, with the girls placing 6th out of 29 schools.

Representing the Boys Varsity team, senior Rylan Haskett ran strong and placed 28th out of 226 boys. The Lady Knights team saw two top 10 finishers; senior Ciara Miles (5th) and junior Cayden Crismon (10th). Their next runners were freshman Kelly Miles (45th) and seniors Grace Chandler (74th) and Gabriela Johnson (76th). With such stacked competition this year, these were some extremely impressive times.

In 2018, the lady knights made 10th place, and last year they moved up to 9th, so with the jump to 6th this year, there is no telling where they will be in the near future. Keep an eye out for this team!
