The River Ridge Track and Field team traveled to Woodstock High School to compete in the annual Wolverine Invitational. There were many top finishes for each race and two school records were broken. Congratulations to David Crow (Senior), Trey Huguley (Senior), Rylan Haskett (Junior), and Daniel Hansraj (Junior) for breaking the 4 x 800 Meter Relay with a time of 8:47.42 and placing 3rd in the meet. The boys A team for the 4 x 100 Meter Relay placed 2nd overall. In the boys 400 Meter Dash Christion Landers (Freshman) placed 2nd and in the boys 1600 Meter Rylan Haskett (Junior) placed 2nd. On the girl’s teams, there were many individual placements. Congratulations to Mataya Gayle (Freshman) for breaking the school record for the 300 Meter Hurdles with a time of 49.15 placing 2nd. Mataya also placed 1st in the 100 Meter hurdles and earned Female of the Meet. Chioma Uwaomah (Junior) placed 3rd in the 100 Meter Hurdles and Jasmine Long (Freshman) placed 3rd in the 300 Meter Hurdle, and Ciara Miles (Junior) placed 3rd in the 1600 Meter run. Breona Holley (Junior) placed 2nd in the girls Discus Throw. The girls A 4 x 100 Relay team placed 2nd along with the girls 4 x 400 Meter Relay teams and the 4 x 800 A team placed 1st. The girls team placed 2nd in the meet with a total of 96 points. This team is back at it again on Wednesday March 11th at the Ridge. Be there to support your fellow knights!
