Boys Junior Varsity Football, Boys Varsity Football · PRE- GAME REPORT

We surveyed some of our fellow students to get their insight on the upcoming football game.

Kennedy Monfort – “I am so excited to see the amount of spirit from our support section. Also, I love getting ready with my friends before the game and all the hype that build up.”

Connor Gross – “I have a passion for the game I love being on the field and playing alongside my friend Coen Liner. We both like our new coaches and are excited for this season. We can’t wait to start and finish every game stong.”

Leigh Cordinera – “My favorite part of the football games is the student section. I hope our section gets bigger and has much more spirit.”

Jasmen long- “I love going to football games because I can see all of my friends and show our school spirit. I also think that this year our football team will be a lot better and stronger. I see all of their hard work and can’t wait to see all their hard work pay off.”

Julia Morgen- “I am so excited to support my friends on the team and I cannot wait to see the energy and spirit that our student section will have this year. Also, I see so much potential in Preston Cox (Junior) and I see him thriving this season.”

Waleska Chica- “I love going to football games because they are so interesting, and it is fun to experience all the excitement with my friends.”

Coach Jones expressed to us, “This scrimmage is a glorified practice, so they’re going to focus on them necessarily more than the other team,” but he sees the guys working hard so he thinks they stand a pretty good chance to go out there and but on a good show. Coach says that since working with this team so far, he is very impressed with the o-line. “They have come a long way and made a lot of improvement.” Coach, also, informed us that for offence, “Chase Begin (Quarterback, Senior) will throw but they will also see Carson Lathem, and Daniel Fitches.” “The Knights are very comfortable on the field,” he says, “and the players have practiced for a long time so it’s just going to be exciting.” We also asked how the practice has been and he described practices as “Hot!” but everyone has had good attitudes and good effort. He also stated that some of the team’s strengths are, “We have a lot of returning starters from last year and the way they play all together. We tell our guys that the only team that’s going to beat River Ridge is River Ridge, so if we don’t give one hundred percent every day, then, sometimes, we drag but just keeping a consistent thing going every day.”
